As we discussed last time, biological pollutants are found in most homes. For some unfortunate ones, these pollutants cause them to feel unwell. But, seeing that the health problems caused by bio pollutants manifest the same symptoms as many other ailments, how can you tell if they are the problem? To help you find out, here are a few questions to ask yourself:
An allergy to bio pollutants can cause headaches, dry throat, fever, stuffy nose, and trouble breathing, to name just a few. If you suffer these symptoms, do they go away when you spend time outside?
Have you recently had some work done on your home, like insulation, weatherstripping, window installation, or another kind of energy conservation work? Did your health problems begin during or after the work was done? If you have recently moved to a new home, did the symptoms start after the move?
Have you cleaned or changed your air conditioning or HVAC filters lately, or has it been a while?
Do you experience high levels of humidity inside your home? Are there musty odors in areas of the home that could indicate mold?
If you are answering yes to some of these questions, then it could be you are being affected by biological pollutants in your home. However, you must consult with a health care professional to receive an accurate diagnosis. Discuss with your doctor the above questions, which may help them identify the problem.
