A home inspection is arguably the most important part of your home buying process. It is like a pilot’s check list before he takes off – because problems in the air become much more serious. So too with a home inspection, it makes sure things are safe before you “take off” and lock yourself into that home – because after you own it, issues become more serious for you. So choosing the right home inspector is very important.
The right home inspector is one that is fully qualified to inspect your home. But two home inspectors with the same qualifications on paper may be vastly different in reality. Be sure that your home inspector is experienced. Would you feel comfortable on a plane knowing that the pilot and mechanic doing the check had never done it before? Or if you heard them say “what is this thing” as they are looking around? So too, and experienced home inspector is very important.
Also, choose a home inspector who truly cares. This may seem cliché, but it is very important. Someone who cares and loves what they do will always do a better job than one who doesn’t.
